I just want to make sure my speech is as "polished" as possible. Unfortunately, it seems like there is no personal message option on this forum. (I don't want to put this stuff online, it would be weird if any of my colleagues stumbled across this page. Sorry, Im weird that way... )

There's a minimum, presumably to prevent trolling. It kicks in after a few posts (10?) You can fool the counter by entering and deleting a few posts.
