| In the discussion section the authors extrapolated beyond the data analyzed as they claimed that “the larger number of advertisements collected shows those manufacturers are investing significantly in advertising”. This statement is not justified because there is no prove about it in this study. Moreover, the authors referred their discussion to studies with different sample being used for an example, “Despite MCAZ’s strict requirements regarding the prominence of the generic name, only 6% of the advertisements for non prescription drugs displayed the generic name more prominently than the brand name. This finding is similar to findings by Herxheimer et al’s study of advertisement in 18 countries”, Herxheimer et al’s study were using advertisement from publish journal different from the sample of this study which were leaflets and inserts collected from drug product sales representatives, doctors rooms, hospital and retail pharmacy. Thanks, Fizzy |
