There are eight Indian companies in Forbe's Fortune Global 500 list.Five of them/these are related to petroleum products.They are Indian Oil,Reliance Industries,Hindusthan Petroleum,Oil and Natural gas and Bharath Petroleum.The only company relating to banking sector is State bank of India while the remaining two companies belongs to Tata group.In Of the eight corporations, five belong to the government of India.
Reliance Industries, which is lead by Mukesh Ambani, is was founded by Dheerubhai ambani in the year 1966.Tata Group, which is lead by Ratan Tata, is one of the India's oldest corporations.In the initial days the firm is established for dealt with/specialized in textile goods and later they spread their business to different sectors like retail,communications and petroleum. The Tata Group is emerged as one of the major companies in India in the 19030's and later they entered into almost all major fields like steel,automobiles,chemicals,beverages,communicatio ns,hotels etc.
