Some people fear that technology is gradually taking over control in our lives, while others think that it has led to many positive developments in all aspects of their lives.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Technological appliances bit by bit are taking control of our lives and changing everything around us. Also there is a dispute between people who think that it is disagreeable and who suggests that technological revolution will lead to really essential changes. In this essay I will try to figure out both points of view.


The first advantage of technological inventions is that after moment when internet came in peoples' life, it became more simplified. For instance we can buy everything we want using internet shops. Home education is possible nowadays through Skype with teacher and it costs cheaper than education at university or at school. Communication with relatives who live abroad and with friends from other countries goes easier with social networks like Facebook and Vkontakte.

An additional advantage is that with technological gadgets our life became more convenient. Heater, air-conditioner, freezer and microware and many others – these gadgets are irreplaceable today for us. These instruments help us to feel comfy even if it is cold outside, or we want food to be fresh for a period of time, or it is too hot at home and we need fresh air.

The most serious drawback of technological influence on people is that they stopped «thinking». All functions that they had to do in the past, nowadays are made by machines. People became indolent and lazy and this is why there are too many people who are fat or have health problems because of the fact that they have inactive way of life.

Another negative aspect of technological inventions is that people spend too much money on different electronic resources. Companies produce new devices rapidly and also new models of gadgets are very expensive, but people still changing old on new ones. For example Iphone 4s and Iphone 5. There is a little difference between these two mobile phones, but people buy iphone 5 instead of iphone 4. Why?- because it is fashionable and cool to have last version of the gadget that is known all over the world as «The best».

To my mind it is very complicated to say exactly what is better: to have life with technological devices or to be independent of them. But certainly I think that because of the fact that technological inventions have a little number of disadvantages, our life is better in all aspects only with these appliances.(398 words)
