Default regarding letter writing

Hi,

I was told recently that certain lines that i used in a particular letter are wrong english. I was wondering if you could tell me if that is the case.

1. At the end of a letter requesting a person to do a particular task. i wrote
"Hoping you could do the need be"---is this wrong and if so why?

2. Then after that I write "Thanking you" followed by yours sincerely. is this phrase correct or wrong and if wrong why?

thanks for your help

I haven't heard 'do the need be', but it could be like 'do the needful', which was used in the nineteenth century but has fallen out of use in modern British English, though is still found in South Asian English. It's certainly not a phrase I would use.
In a letter, I generally use 'Thanking you in advance, I look forward to hearing from you.' then put the 'Yours sincerely' underneath.
