Need help on making essay have more thought instead of examples.

Hi,
I recently had a conversation with my teacher and she read my essay. She said it was good, but I would have to put more thought instead of examples from the book. What does she mean by this and can anyone give me any examples of thought in essays.

It means you need to come up with original ideas yourself, instead of simply copying facts from a book and rearranging the order.
