Abstract:
This work called “Theoretical-methodical bases of religious tourism” deals with religious tourism in its theoretical dimension. In the first chapter of the work we familiarize ourselves with religious tourism, its development, definitions and classifications. Religious tourism itself is analyzed in the second chapter, in which apart from definitions, we also find its prospects to the future forming the main part of this chapter. The fourth chapter aims at pilgrimage tours from Slovakia offered by local travel agencies which are advertised in Katolicke noviny (Slovakia’s religious newspaper for Roman Catholic). In the last part of this work we dedicated our attention to the importance of religious tourism from an economic perspective.
