Similar to pharmaceutical advertisements in medical journals, detailers also provided low standard of information to doctors. Studies in Australia will contribute to the body of knowledge of this field of research which is still inadequate. These have created to a need of a study evaluating the skills of physicians in analyzing promotional information which may reduce the negative impact of promotion to doctors prescribing behaviour and patients’ health.

In my field of study, detailers and pharmaceutical sales representatives are used interchangeably.
