| Are you contracted to work only till 5.30? If so, I am writing to ask if it is possible for me to leave work promptly at 5:30pm. Give the reason Then say just end as you would a normal formal letter. |

| Dear [Supervisor]: Please be reminded that my office hours are [Monday] through [Friday], [8:30 AM] to [5:30 PM]. Unfortunately, there have been several recent occasions where I have been required to stay past 5:30, which conflicts with other obligations I have. In the event my assistance is required outside office hours, please contact me directly so that a mutually agreeable resolution can be achieved. Thank you for your cooperation. [Mary Smith] |
