| Most importantly, you have to be able to sell whatever your product is. Sales executives should make a good appearance. They should be well-groomed and neat. It's important to display self-confidence and to be able to talk comfortably with just about anyone. Be polite and engaging. Know your product thoroughly and be able to answer any questions about it. Once you've made a sale, keep in contact with the customer to make sure they're satisfied and to see if there is anything else they need. Treat your customers who purchase $10 items with the same courtesy and attention as those who purchase $1,000 items. Be sincere and honest, don't make promises you can't keep. |

| Selling is an art that can be learned, although some will say that it is a natural gift. In any case there is a great deal of psycholgy involved in selling. There are many books on the subject whichwill help, but in my opinion the best way is to try and work with someone who has experience and model yourself on them. It is a hard business to be involved in and you will require a great deal of perseverance to succeed. If you do succeed then the rewards can be great. Best of luck! |
