Default Narrative

Hi everybody!!

Please could you tell me if narrative writing can be written in the second person? I know first and third person is fine, but second isn't. I saw on a book that second person is possible. I got mixed up! Help me please! :)

Hi, and welcome!

You can see it, but only for very short pieces. For example, as a character's monologue. When you say that you saw it on a book, I would presume that you don't mean that the entire book was in 2d person, right?

It's uncommon and also difficult to write in the 2nd person. I can remember those early computer role playing games; you are in a dark chamber you are feeling cold you can go E,W,N,S..

You go East..Time passes..A piano falls on your head...etc etc

Georges Perec, who also wrote a novel without using the letter 'e', did it, I believe.
