This is the thesis statement for my essay. I want to make sure two things:Although neither of the stories contains high opinions of the upper class, "Mother Savage" contrasts vague and superficial ideas that occupy the upper classes with the harsh realities of the poor and suggests incompensable differences settle in between them, whereas unflattering accounts of two upper class ladies in "Roman Fever" suggest all human beings share the same weaknesses and classes mean little in that regard.
1. That it's free of grammatical mistakes
2. Whether I can use another word for "incompensable" (I don't even think the word exists... I just made it up)
Please feel free to make any other corrections (i.e. structural mistakes, simple suggestions to make the statement more clear)
Help is much appreciated. HKB out!
that occupy the upper classes- preoccupy??
incompensable - irreconcilable?
incompensable differences settle in between them- differences between them are irreconcilable
classes mean little in that regard- and that classes have little meaning/class differences amount to little ???
