Caesar’s father was Gaius Julius Caesar, who became a Roman Senator, and His mother was Aurelia Cotta who’s father and grandfather were both consuls. Caesar being in such a prestigious family grew up to follow in his families footsteps. Caesar’s military career was very successful as historians call him one of the greatest military strategists and tacticians who have ever lived. Caesar was part of the civil war which started when he crossed the river Rubicon and the results of the war led to even more power. Caesar’s claims to power eventually led the tension between the senate to his own assassination.
