I prayed until the candles winked out
I knelt until the kneeling was bored
In you, I asked about Muhammad and Christ
O Jerusalem, the city of Prophets
A shortest path between earth and sky
O Jerusalem, the light of faiths
You are as a beautiful girl with burned fingers
Sad it's her eyes, O city of Virgin
You are the shady oasis, Prophet had passed by
Your streets' stone are cry
Your minarets are screaming out
O Jerusalem, A black-dressed beauty
Who rings the bells of your Nativity
On Saturday morning?
Who buys toys for children
On Christmas Eve?
O Jerusalem, the city of deep sorrows
A big tear muring in the eye
Who will stop the aggressions
Upon you, O pearl of religions
Who will wash the bleeds on your walls?
Who will free the Gospels?
Who will free the Quran?
Who will save Christ?
Who will save man?
O Jerusalem, My city
O Jerusalem, My love
Tomorrow, the lemon trees will bloom
The green stalks and olive trees will sing with great joy
The eyes will laugh
And the migrant pigeons will return
To the holy roofs
And the children will play again
O Jerusalem,
And the parents and children will meet
Upon your flowering hills
O my city,
City of peace and olives
