Default Making a life changing choice

Making a life changing choice

Many people today make the decision to go to college. Going to college has become part of the American dream, as much as owning a house with a white picket fence, having children, and a beloved family pet. Gaining a college education ensures a person to do well in life. In fact two thirds of Americans attend a postsecondary school. Statistics show that an investment in postsecondary education pays off in higher earning power.
Most Americans desire a higher income than they already earn. College is a basis of higher education and higher income potential. Going to college may be a personal goal, professional choice, economic decision, a social opportunity, or a technological advancement. The reasons for attending college are many and the evidence of this choice is abundant. Going to college is one of the best choices a person can make to prepare themselves for the future.
Many people today have a personal goal or dream of going to college. They either choose to attend college because it is their own personal desire, or because someone else desires it for them. In either case the choices are still made, and off to college they go. If these people stick with it they will fulfill a dream. They will also have a lifetime of lasting benefits.
Take nurses for example. They are able to take pride in what they do. They are also able to live their dream by helping to heal the sick and wounded. They will have a lifetime of lasing invaluable skills if they stick with it and do what they love doing.
Many students choose to attend college for professional reasons. In the day and time we live in it is almost a necessity to have a degree in something valuable. People can also use what it is that they have learned and worked hard for, to get a good job in an extremely competitive job market. Let’s use the police officer for an example. This person got their job by hard work, schooling, and training. Because of all this person has done they now have a marketable career.
Another thing that drives people into college is economic issues. Economic issues drive people into college regularly. Almost all Americans want to be able to sustain themselves and their family in a growing economy. They also would like to be able to obtain a good economic status by earning more money. In the end these people would like to obtain enough money to well afford personal & family expenses in a thriving economy. What is more appealing being the 20k a year janitor or the 300k a year doctor? Most Americans desire the higher economic status that comes with the career.
Americans will also attend college for social reasons. They are interested in meeting new people and socializing. They are also interested in making new friends with different backgrounds. In the end they desire to gain friends of all cultures and genders and in doing so they can gain more knowledge of other cultures and customs as well. People surprise themselves regularly with whom they befriend in college. Hey will take those memories of that journey with them thorough their lives.
Many students will find themselves attending college for technological reasons. They may want to get up to date on new technology, or be improving their marketable skills. In doing this these students are more able to keep up with modern day technological advancements. They have the complete ability of being computer literate when they were once computer illiterate.
There are many reasons why people attend college in this day and time. They are preparing themselves for a good career, marketable skills, and unlimited career possibilities. A higher education beyond high school will put people in a better position to help their families, communities, and give them the lives they dream of having. The more education a person per sues, the better the career options will be for them. A college education gives people a good start in life by increasing their knowledge and life skills.

Some changes are necessary. (Good title!)

For starters, you forgot to space between paragraphs.
