CELEBRITY MELTDOWNS - The high price of fame

Celebrities need the approval of others to be successful, which also means that they have more than the usual assaults on one’s ego. They suffer under a high level of stress and it is not uncommon for them to have low self-esteem.
Scientists think it is a mix of that what causes the meltdown of celebrities.
Personally, I don’t want to be famous. I think if you are a celebrity you suffer under so much pressure that you can’t relax very well.
You have so many appointments with television and radio stations. Every time you leave your house there are so many people who want to take a picture, or want a signature or simply want to shake your hand. It must be very hard to stay cool when there are so many people who want something from you.
I think it will be sufferable if I am famous for one day or a week, but never the whole of my life. Every single step you do is recorded by other people, which mean you have no privacy.
The only thing you can do to prevent yourself from the others is to lock into your house. This thought sounds terrible to me.
If this is the only way to have some privacy I think I will become insane.
So I am really happy to be normal, normal like many other people.

-----

I also have a question about the two if sentences which are highlighted in red. Is the first type (if + simple present ... will) of conditional sentences ok or would be the second type(if + simple past ... would + infinitive) better?
-----

Thank you for your help.
kind regards, chrisieck

I think it would be tolerable to be famous for one day or one week, but not for my whole life. If you are famous then everything you do is recorded by other people, which means you have no privacy. The only thing you can do to protect yourself from others is to lock yourself inside your house. This thought sounds terrible to me.
