The Biggest Eastern Festival

Every year on easter, me and my family regularly visit the one of the biggest Eastern festival in Slovakia. It takes place 30 kilometers from Kosice on east in a village called Dargov.

Festival starts at Holly week. During this week you can buy Eastern meals, food and chocolate in special Eastern shops. I don’t like that you can’t eat this food, becouse it’s „Lent“. A time when is forbidden to eat meat, chocolates and drink alcohol. In this time people usually send Easter cards to their friends and relatives.

Easter Sunday is a day of Jesus Christ resurrection. On this day people go to church for a special Easter worship in the morning. I never go, becouse it’s very boring for me. After the worship every people eat, drink and celebrate this feast day. I like that atmosphere. In every corner of the village you can hear national folklore music.

I always enjoy the time we spend on Eastern Festival in Dargov and I recommend it for anybody who loves traditional values and history.
