Russia opens the door of highly classified nuclear arsenal to NATO

For the first time, Russia opened the door of highly classified nuclear arsenal to NATO.

Three years ago, generals in Russian General Staff could not imagine of, even in their dreams, that the envoies of NATO would enter the nuclear arsenal -- the extremely classified national security system of Russa -- where stores warheads of strategic missiles, tactical nuclear weapons, ammunitions including mines. On Aug.3, Russia defense secretary Ivanov guided in person 49 NATO military experts from 17 countries to visit a nuclear arsenal located at Cola peninsula.

All of this acted within the cooperative frame set up by Russia-NATO commission.

The Russian side introduced to the experts from Brussels regarding some key factors of protecting the secret establishment.Russia defense secretary Ivanov showed the guests that Russia has "complete ability to secure the nuclear establishment".

The visiting preluded the military rehearse "Accident -- 2004" in connection with Russia's protecting the safety of nuclear establishment. The rehearse planned by the 12th General Bureau of Russia defense department, where general Yigor Valenking serves as its director in full charge of the security of Russian nuclear missiles.

The rehearse supposed that international terrorists attacked a motorcade loaded with nuclear missiles, and that the time, place, number of terrorists and their weapons for the attack remain unknown for the captain of the motorcade and its guards. After being attacked, the vehicles loaded with nuclear missiles pulled together and came closed one another, and were well protected by firepower until several minutes later the reinforcement troops rushed to the spot and besieged the terrorists and annihilated them.

Critics pointed out that not only did the rehearse "Accident -- 2004" have its military purpose, but political purpose is also apparent. During the rehearse, Ivanov mentioned the NATO "guests" that in 2002 the U.S. had promised 5 billion dollars to help protect and dismantle Russia's weapons of mass destruction, but by far the U.S. just has encashed 0.4 billion. And, the most of the 0.4 billion has been used in building the plant which will serve to destroy chemical weapons, only the small proportion of it has been used to the nuclear arsenal under the charge of General Valenking. Russia looks forward to the U.S. to encash its promise. Perhaps because of this, Russia opened its top military secret to NATO.

One of the excellent editings that I have received by far. :D

Two little questions seem remained.

(1) I used "rehearse", and you used "rehearsal". Both words seem intended to an artistic activity, while what I have described is a military training. I didnot know if there is a proper word to depict this.

(2) Regarding "Only a small potion of it has been used for the nucler arsenal under the charge of General Valenking. "

"Potion" means "A liquid dose, especially one of medicinal, magic, or poisonous content." So it seems not suitable to here.

PS.

My area had a blackout today, so I was late.

"Rehearse" is the verb, and "rehearsal" is the noun. A rehearsal is an exercise in preparation for the real thing. You might say that you are doing it without really doing it. :)

(2) Regarding "Only a small potion of it has been used for the nucler arsenal under the charge of General Valenking. "
