| Referendum in Taiwan Referendum in Taiwan has been an unprecedented policy especially Taiwanese consider that it is an important process from an immature country to a developed democratic country. Actually many policy decision issues were decided by referendum around the world in any democratic countries, but Taiwan's international politics stand is sensitive all the way therefore the result of referendum in Taiwan will cause different reponses from all kinds of periople. The referendum was not approved by voter this time not only for arguable President Election but also the power of against party. As a result of dubitable president vote, referendum was ignored and lost its original purport. Most of the people aimed at the outcome of President Election more than the result of referendum and that meant the referendum was not valued seriously. What are the problems of referendum after all? It is relating to the content of questions, the right timing, or anything else those which worth to realize the truthful cause by the goverment. Nowadays, the President of Taiwan has been confirmed already. It is important to rethink the policy of referendum by governing party though most of the voters did not approve the referendum. No matter what kind of resistance is, people who live in Taiwan hope everything grows to maturity steady. |

| Referendums\Referenda (you choose which Referendums\a in Taiwan are an unprecedented policy especially as the Taiwanese consider that it is an important stage in the process of developing from an immature country into a developed democratic country. Actually many policy decision issues were decided by referendums\a around the world in many democratic countries, but Taiwan's international political position is highly sensitive, therefore the result of a referendum in Taiwan will cause different reponses from all kinds of people. The referendum was not approved by voters this time, not only for the arguable presidential election but also the power of the opposition party. (I must say that this sentence doesn't make much sense to me at all and I can't work out what they are trying to say) As a result of the dubious presidential vote, the referendum was ignored and lost its original purpose. Most people targetted the outcome of the presidential election more than the result of referendum and that meant the referendum was not valued seriously. What are the problems of referendums\a after all? It relates to the wording of the questions, the timing, or anything else those which worth to realize the truthful cause by the goverment (again, this last part doesn'tmean much to me) Now, the President of Taiwan has already been confirmed. It is important to rethink the policy of referendum by the governing party though most of the voters did not support the referendum. No matter what kind of opposition there is, people who live in Taiwan hope everything grows to maturity steadily.[/quote] I've done what I can for the moment, but parts just don't add upto anything to me. I'll try again before I go to bed. |

The referendum was not approved by most of voters in Taiwan. The reasons responsible for this failure incldues not only some arguable issues such as the 'Gun-Shot Effect' and 'Cheating ballots' in Presidential Election but also opinions and critics from the opposite party. 1) Cheating ballots: I think this word is tooo strong and is considered not proper appearing in the contex. What I wanted to say is validity of some ballots are questionale because the stamps were not clearly enough for examiners to claim valid or invalid. 2) Opposite party: Not the ruling party. Do you have any idea now? Quote:
The government might have disguised the truth in this Presidential Election, and people don't want to turn a blind eye so that they think working out the truth is of much concerns at the moment. Does that help? Quote:
Thank you, Tdol. Did you have a nice dream after editing? |

To be honest, it's very hard to construct a clear meaning out of it. It's very vague. |

| Tdol, thank you very much. @->-- When it comes to composing a specific topic, especially politics, it's difficult for learners due to limited vocab and proper allocations. Again, THANKS! :D Blacknomi |
