Default Informal letter (set text) - pls. look through for mistakes

Question
You have been reading Jules Verne's book 'Round the World in Eighty Days'. Use this book to answer the following question:
Write a letter to a friend recommending him or her to read the book which you have read. Give reasons for your recommendations.

Dear Carla,

Thanks for your letter – it was really nice to hear from you again. I’m sorry I haven’t written for ages, but I’ve been really busy preparing for my exams. It’s really good news that you’ve passed your driving test. Congratulations!

Anyway, have you ever read Jules Verne’s book ‚Round the World in Eighty Days‘? It’s a story about a typical English gentleman Mr. Fogg who has kept to the same exact routine for many years. However, in a discussion in his club, he says that it is possible to travel around the world in eighty days and to prove it, he sets off himself. At first, all goes well but then all sorts of problems start.

You will really like the part where Mr. Fogg, with his faithful servant Passepartout take time to rescue a widow Aouda from burning on her husband’s funeral pyre. I’m sure you’ll appreciate the funny way how Fogg is pursued by inspector Fix, who is convinced that he is a bank robber. This is definitely a book that is impossible to forget.

I’ll finish now as I’m running out of space. I hope you are enjoying driving your car. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best,

Jonathan

Thanks very much for your reply. I don't know why, I can't remember the phrasal verb "to put down" :)
Thanks once again, it sounds much better now.
