We do not need zoos any longer – we can learn enough about animals from film and books

In today’s world, the great majority of species that have ever lived—probably more than 99 percent—are now extinct. Animal species become extinct for many reasons, including climate change, disease, destruction of habitat, local or worldwide natural disasters, development into new species.

Some people claim that showing animals in zoo is unnecessary. They believe that when one studies animals from the Internet, films or books, one is able to understand their needs perfectly. Furthermore, the entrance fees are quite high sometimes, so that families with children can’t afford to go as often as they would.

However, other people believe that this opinion is erroneous. If one wishes to know animals well, it is much better when one has the possibility to physically interact with them. Pavilons in zoo should be made as interesting as possible to captivate a lot of people.

To sum up, it seems to me that zoos are really useful and should be supported, even thought it costs a great deal of money.

Thank you for your feedback, Anglika. I really need practice my writing. It's my weakness, but I'm trying to work on it intensively.
