Answer:
Leisure time – today and in the past
In today’s world, as well as in the past, leisure time is a period of time in which one doesn’t have to work.
Some people claim that young person [a young person/young people] in these days has/have a plenty of free time compared to 100 years ago. They believe that when one is able to use computers, fax machines, printers or other inventions of the modern age at work, one has more time for oneself. Furthermore, one can use the appliances, such as a washing machine, cooker, dish washer or microwave oven at home; these all save time too.
However, other people believe that this opinion is erroneous. They think that today young people work much longer than in the past. Life is faster; if one wishes to get a better job or to be promoted, one has to study or work harder than the others. As a result, one has less time for hobbies.
To sum up, it seems to me that young people today do not have more leisure time than in the past. On the other hand, today they have muchmany more possibilities as to how to spend their free time.
