Having Fewer Children In today’s societies, a major distinction between underdeveloped and developed areas can be made in terms of the number of children that families have. While people who live in underdeveloped areas have more children in accord with a higher birth rate, those who live in developed areas have fewer children which can be attributed to the education that people get about birth control, the idea that having more children is a burden on family and higher rates of employed women in societies. The first reason why families who live in developed areas have fewer children concerns the education they are provided in birth control. Since the governments in such areas have demographic projections and families have a planned economic budget by experts in that field, people are aware that if they want to live in an economically better environment, they have to plan their future. The second reason concerns the idea that having more children will eventually become a burden on family. Because of the fact that educated parents want to create a better atmosphere for their children with more facilities in addition their basic needs, they have fewer children to be able to improve their families’ quality of life. Not only the children will have overall improved facilities, but also the parents will benefit from a better life. The third reason concerns the high rates of employed women in developed countries. Working women cannot give special attention to lots of children since she will probably have neither time nor energy to take care of them properly. Due to the fact that most parents want their children to have the most probable best of everything, the number of children they should have are being planned carefully according to the families’ economic status. In conclusion, families who have fewer children can live a happier and a healthier life in terms of both the parents and their children. Governmental policies to control the population growth, educating people about birth control and long-term planning family budget are vitally important in societies’ standard of living.
