It is not my homework. This fragment was written by a native speaker who criticizes my English. I admit my own mistakes, but this person considers herself faultless. I have discovered a few elementary errors in this fragmet and I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.

1. Comma between subject and predicate? (The song “This Land is Your Land”, was) 2. Peter, Paul and Mary- the name of the group is lost among the commas. 3. It was sung across all cultural lines from India to Israel, from Belgium to Sweden and Scotland. 4. “This Land is Your Land” was written by Guthrie during the time of the Great Dustbowl era during The Great Depression. –maybe rephrase to avoid repeating “during” 5. Later, Guthrie added more two /wrong topic/politically critical verses attacking hunger and unemployment. “This Land is Your Land” was so popular that there are several international versions including a Canadian one sang by/a better order?/ the group, The Travellers, in 1955. In the international versions, the geographical names are changed in the chorus.

Thank you all. The problem is that this fragment is part of a manuscript. This person wouldn't accept any comments beyond a missing comma. She keeps saying " In English, this is how we say; this is proper English " etc. All your comments are highly appreciated.

What about? During the 1960’s, music unified a generation in protest against war, racial injustice, linguistic inequality, and sexual discrimination. One of the most popular folk ballads of the time "This Land is Your Land" was a song that had been written in the 1940’s by Woody Guthrie. It was a folk song for the people, of the people, and by the people.

Thank you, Soup. I am also asking myself if Dustbowl is written as one word or two (as I found in some sources).
