The denominator used to calculate the availability of P in most studies was the number of D. However, two studies used T as the denominator and did not provide any information on D that could allow us to recalculate the results.

The denominator used to calculate the availability of P in most studies was the number of D. However, two studies used T as the denominator and did not provide any information on D that could allow us to recalculate the results.

It seems to make sense. However, is it "the number D" or "the sum of D"?
