Proofreading or Rephrasing is very much appreciating. Thanks for your help
The limited readership results in the public misunderstanding that scholars' works are not interesting but absur
d. When
they people spot academic books in bookstores, what cros
ses their mind is
"difficult-to-read, with intimidating terms and boring writing style
",
though even when the book's topic sounds interesting. The history of
sales of academic writing to the public has been so dismal
because customers often
put down books right after they
know find out/discover that the author is an academic
, or
they just stay away from academic sections but idle around popular book sections. This has been for academic books a long-standing problem that contributes
to their low sales and the stock reduction by commerical bookstores. That's why I am not surprised that the
relative size of fiction sections to those of academic section
s is at least 15:1. It is quite pathetic that potentially important works do not have a chance to appear in bookstore but end up in
the trash.
