One is a play by Djanet Sears - Harlem Duet; one is a poem by J.C.Armstrong - Indian Woman

Why is equality important? Is equality possible? Or desirable? Are some cultures better than others?

(Roman numerals were rejected in favor of Arabic numerals, so people must have decided that Arabic numerals are better.)
