Lightbulb [Story] Reflection

.
.

Hello! This is my English practice, but I didn't create the story. Could someone please proofread it for me? Many thanks!

Reflection

A dog idled around in the street. It happened to get a delicious bone. "Oh, goody! I'd like to take it home and taste it slowly," the dog thought excitedly. And then it bit its bone making its way home.

The weather was agreeable. The skies was so blue and birds were singing cheerfully. Being on the alert, the dog took the bone tight with its teeth. It worried much that other big dogs might snatch his bone away. Later it past over a bridge. If it had kept going on, nothing would have happened; but it stopped and craned its neck looking down on the river from the bridge. It saw there was another dog also tooking a big bone in the river.

"Oh, I must have that big bone too," the dog thought greedily. "Bowbow," it started baying loudly. Just at that moment, the bone dropped from its teeth and sank into the river.

"Ay gevalt!" the dog whined regretfully. "That's just my own reflection."

Dear thedaffodils,

What does it mean? Or it is just the dog's expression in his way?

Hi Supada,

I learned the word from American cartoon-the Simpsons. It is just an exclamation for regret in my context.

Here's the defintion of it.
