| Neutron stars These stars are bigger several times than that of sun. They are formed as a result of a supernova. Supernova is an explosion of stars, when these stars have running out their nuclear fuel, they explode. When they explode their materials, electrons and protons, squeeze together to become neutrons so that why we call them neutron stars. A neutron star is very heavy because the neutrons are tightly crammed together into a super dense object that one sugar cube of its material weighs about 100 million tons, which is about as much as a mountain. Therefore as a star gets smaller, its mass gets heavier. A Neutron star has a very high rotation speed. It can spin several hundred times per second. That creates intense magnetic fields around it and when it rotates, it produces a sound similar to a hammer, So that why the astronomers call it 'a gigantic hammer'. Some people ask how could we hear neutron stars' sounds while the closet one is hundreds of light years from earth? Well, neutron stars produce regular beams of radio waves, these beams are received by radio telescopes then converted into sounds. And here I want to indicate that some astronomers entitle these stars as pulsars but that naming isn't perfect because in the beginning astronomers thought that their sounds are similar to pulses but later they discerned that the proper name would be hammer so they gave them the name of gigantic hammers. Definitely, the sounds that they produced are akin to the hammer's sound.Thanks alot |

| 1. comparative structure -er + than 2. determiners nouns require a determiner 3. perfect structure have + ed 4. Present tense expresses a fact when ... run out run out of 5. so that is why we call / which is why they are called These stars are bigger several times than that of sun. | A supernova is a star in the process of explosion. A neutron star is a neutron star because of implosion, not explosion. It is called a neutron star because it is composed of neutrons. It is very dense. |
