That is certainly a valid interpretation. Thank you for your valuable contribution.

Just for context - you say your mother was still studying to be a doctor but then your father is also a doctor there. Apples and oranges. Please - will not or won't.

Thanks for the correction. I asked my mom again and she told me she was training to become a neurosurgeon then while my father was training to become a general surgeon. He had trained as an internist in the US before he met my mom.
Is my grammar correct?

I would clarify the situation in your write up. Mother was in training, father was on staff. You said "also".

Dear RonBee,
Yes! I wish I could take you with me to school.
I showed your corrections to my mom and dad
and they told me you are good and you sound friendly.
They regularly monitor my internet friends. Just
a month ago my classmate sent me porno and they
got angry. My mom told me not to open my emails.
My mails are examined before they are allowed to be read
by me. I use my mom's e-mail address right now. This
way she can easily see my mails.
Next week will be our third quarterly exams. We will be
very busy. After the 16th, we will be free! Christmas
break. On the 30th will be our Fiesta. We celebrate
our town's patron Saint- St. James the Greater. There
will be lots of food and music! Many people will come
and celebrate this day with us. Everybody is invited.
It's true that the country is in financial crisis but during
Fiesta, one word comes to mind "abundance". Some
families even go to lenders (sharks) just to make this
feast grand. Its our way of doing things which really
looks different. I can send you our family picture if you
like---see how we live here.

Thank you for that wonderfully interesting post. Yes, of course you may send me a picture.

BTW, I have no corrections to offer, because there is very little that needs to be changed.

Dear Ronbee,
How are you? I hope you are in good health.
At last, my exams are over. I tackled 9 subjects in 3 days. These included Science, Reading, Language, Math, Civics, Home economics, Computer,
Filipino (native language)and Religion (my school is run by catholic brothers).
Christmas break this time will be completely worry-free for me. For the last 5 years, third quarterly exams were given right after Christmas Break. Several parents complained thus the change in sked. In Language, our exam was about adjectives, adverbs--identifying, kinds, uses, arrangement etc. Reading included comparison, idiomatic expressions, colloquial English, outlining, summarizing, getting the main idea, make a possible ending, getting the lesson in the story, comparing charactersetc.
Math and Science are my favorite subjects. In Math, we are in the discounts, interests, proportions, percents, decimals and fractions and their applications--quite easy. In Science, we are in matter, elements, periodic table etc--also easy because we've been studying these since level 1.
In Civics, we are studying citizenship and our rights as a Filipino citizen, the government agencies and their heads. All in all we studied 18 government agencies--with overlapping functions. My mom told me our list is not complete! No wonder, we are in financial crisis! So many government employees to pay, but the source of government income nil. Corruption, from what I read in the newspaper, is rampant. Poor Philippines!
In home economics, we studied handicrafts and how it affect the national economy, gardening, food presevation and how to prepare and cook a native sausage called longganisa (yummy!).
Believe it or not, I found our test in Filipino harder than Language and Reading. We have same subject matter-adjectives (Pang-uri) and adverbs (pang-abay). They have almost similar kinds and uses ie. common, nominal and pronominal.
Computer included typing techniques and binary, octal etc computations.
In Religion, we tackled Jesus' miracles, parables, His disciples and Chritmas advent.
WOW! I am so glad it is finished!
How can i send our pictures to you?
Merry Christmas!
RAM
