ask a qusetion about argument and discussion essay differences

Dear friends,

As ,I studied for Ielts exam and several writing reference book,but I am still

confusing about structure of this two type.Normally ,both have a 5 -

paragraph format ,but why place of presenting the opinion is different

,and which paragraph is suitable for our opinion in each type ?

please have a comprehensive answer may be useful for everybody in forum.

The argumentation essay has one purpose: to show you can develop an argument and support it with logical reasoning and examples. The discussion essay is an essay in which you simply show understanding of both sides of an argument, by demonstrating knowledge of both sides. Only after showing this understanding do you show your own personal opinion, just for fun, just for dessert, at the end. The argumentation essay begins with your topic and opinion, and the discussion essay develops both sides throughout, until the end, where you express a brief preference.
