I don't have a problem with conversate. While it seemingly means the same thing as converse, it (conversate) implies a greater sense of informality. Of course, that could just be my take on it.

I agree that it's your take on it, which is good . However, it would not be my take on it. I think it's bound to attract the wrong kind of attention for practical purposes.
