That might be true but both have the same roots and so it's not suprising that both species developed similar characteristics and skills.

Charles Darwin, himself, said monkeys and man are similar species, but not exactly the same.

As far as I know from the evolutionary biology, the human beings and the chimpanzee have a common ancestor.I mean the chimpanzee are not the descendent of the human being.
As for the monkey calls,I think a language is not just voices, abstracting comes first,and it seems that monkeys,apes,etc. have an abstracting capability to some degree.
