Late morning
Hello!
Does "late morning" mean to sleep in/get up late, or does it just mean a certain part/time of the morning?
Thank you :)

By itself, it means a time of day - 10.30am to noon, perhaps, depending on the context.
If you slept in, you might say "I had a late morning", in which case, you might have got up at 8am instead of 7.
So you don't have to wake up late in the morning to have a 'late morning'. It just has to be later than when you normally get up.

Re: Late morning
Hah! My grandson is constantly telling me he "had a late morning." That usually means he got up just before noon.

Re: Late morning
So in this sense it can only be used in "to have a" formation? Is it incorrect to use it in a sentence like: "I'm going back to school next week, so no more late mornings"?

Morning meals include breakfast, though logically this need not be in the morning, and are varied across cultures. Brunch is a late morning meal.

That is a correct sentence.
