I speak only English. I have taken courses in Spanish, Latin and German.
I can get by in a German- or Spanish-speaking country with a little help and a little practice.

I make it a practice never to hold a prolonged conversation witha person who does not speak English.

It removes the necessity for me to learn another language.

I speak, English, German, Spanish, French, Scots and some Gaelic. I've been learning languages for over 20 years. It's what I do :)
