It's a not very inventive pun; there used to be a sweet called Fry's Turkish Delight ('Turkish Delight' is still available, but not - I think - that particular chocolate-covered version). It's irrelevant, and not very amusing; but I wouldn't call it ghastly.

A new series has just started: BBC - BBC Radio 4 Programmes - Fry's English Delight . I think a repeat is scheduled (this evening?). Anyway, it's on iPlayer for the next 6.5 days. ;-)
