Question: How many passive verb forms are there in this short news story?
The recession has altered the attitudes of children to money and their tendency to pester parents for things they want, a survey by the supermarket chain Asda has indicated.
Of 600 children questioned, 44% said they had stopped asking their parents for things they didn't need. And while only 18% of parents thought their children were concerned about the credit crunch, 55% of children said they were worried about the impact the recession was having on their parents.
I count three:
Of 600 children questioned (reduced relative clause = children who were questioned)
And while only 18% of parents thought their children were concerned (adjective)
55% of children said they were worried (adjective)
Do you agree? I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks.
