| | Male Vs. Female Hi, everyone!!
I am a new member and I have a question for you. I hope you can help me with it.
My friends and I have been assigned some investigation related to the way the environment is affected by having a female teacher or a male teacher in the class. Is this true?
How can we make the situation better for both teachers and students?
Thanks for your time to answer this question.
Bye

That's a tough one.
Culture plays a big role; have you asked students what they think/feel? That's where I'd start.

| | Re: Male Vs. Female Hello!!
Thanks for the advice. Actually, we have been thinking about that. We are trying to create a survey for our students. Can you help us with some of the questions that might be included?
We would really appreciate it.
Hope to hear from you and the rest!

I'll move your post to the General Language Discussion Forum, where it'll have a better chance of being seen by the audience your after.

| | Re: Male Vs. Female On a related note, I happened across this recently... Male teachers 'do not help boys' Having male teachers does not improve boys' levels of attainment in school, researchers say.
An assumption that male teachers would have a positive effect but that they were in short supply has concerned policymakers in a number of countries.
But after analysing test results, a team from Durham University found there was no noticeable difference. However, having a female teacher had a positive effect on children's attitude to school, the team found. Read more: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/4230120.stm |

| | Re: Male Vs. Female Hello, again!!
Sorry, I did not know how things worked around here . As I said before, I am new in the group. Anyway, with the information you sent, it was more than enough for us to start our report. Besides, we came up with some questions for our students. But we had to make 3 different surveys, since we teach Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced learners.
Thanks and Bye!!

| | Re: Male Vs. Female Aha - While I don't want to offer any support with our young friend's homework , I do think this age-old subjet merits some forum activity.
There are inherent differences between the two and we can't ignore them. Men have some strengths; women have other strengths. Some people have strengths which are typically identified with the other gender.
I think that the web offers lots of ways to compare things... a side-by-side, line-by-line method works best. While I encourage people to stay in THIS forum, I also suggest people take a glance at this wonderful site. I use it with my students regularly: male vs female Comparison - Comparati |

Do you know a site which analyses the comparison between man and woman as far as art (literature, painting ) concerns?
