I'm happy to find this useful forum.
I'm always confused.
what is the correct sentence? thanks in advance!
Dreams come true.
Dream comes true.
Dream come true.
* Not a teacher
If it is a general statement, the first one is correct. The second one is possible in the proper context and the third one is wrong.
You are right, of course. When I said context I didn't mention if it would work as a whole sentence or not. However...
John: Dude, I had a strange dream last night. Do you want to hear it?
Mike: That's pathetic, but go on...
John: In my dream I found 1 million dollars in my backyard.
Mike: Are you serious?
John: Yes!
Mike: I've got an idea, let's go.
John: Why did you bring me here? This well is dry.
Mike: Yes, but this well is magic.
John: This is even more pathetic than me telling you my dream.
Mike: Come on, think about your dream and drop a 50c coin into it.
John: And what do you think it would happen?
Mike: The dream comes true...
But... the definite article.
Wow... so nice responses.
now, I'm clear. Thanks.
so the conclusion seems to be...
correct:
Dreams come true.
THE Dream comes true.
wrong:
Dream comes true.
Dream come true.
