I think there's something wrong with 'most known' in spite of the fact that I have found few hits for 'most known' on both COCA and BNC. Could you give it a try before I tell you my opinion?

Also, I would use the present perfect (I have just checked Wikipedia and the writer is still alive). But this is just my choice.

Perhaps the same by definition, but in my experience/recollection and with "known", "best" is best.
