I ride horses for a living. (No, not really. :wink: )
I have ridden a horse before.
I rode one once several years ago.
I saw Sally riding her horse yesterday.
Do you like to ride horses?
Have you ever ridden a horse?

I like riding my bike.
My bike is broken, and I can't ride it today.

  • Sam: Have you eaten?
    Pam: Yes, I have eaten.
  • Sam: Did you eat lunch?
    Pam: Yes, I ate lunch.
  • Sam: What did you eat for lunch?
    Pam: I ate a hamburger.
  • Sam: Would you like to eat dinner with me?
    Pam: No, you are too messy when you eat.

(Apparently, Pam has eaten with Sam before or she has at least seen him eat.)
