Dear All,
I wonder if you see this example as humorous irony:
A wife intends to surprise her husband with her new hair-do and, on arriving home, says to her spouse: “I went to the hairdresser’s this afternoon, my dear”. In reply, the husband asks with a smile on his face: “Did you? Er … was it closed, darling?”
By the way, do I need to put a 'she' before 'says': ... she says to her spouse ... ?
Thank so much.
Csika
