Default Prepositions that convey different ideas

Hi! I'm asking for a list of prepositions which in English convey a different idea to the verb they accompany. For example, "write out" vs "write", "type out" vs "type"
I have been taught that the preposition "up" conveys the idea of "completion" for instance "end" and "end up".
What others are there that have the same function?
What I need to know is for instance:
UP > conveys the semantic idea of completion
OUT > the idea it may also convey apart from that of "outwards" is XXXX
IN > the idea it may also convey aprat from that of "inwards" is XXXX

Thank you !

These are only approximate guides. Here, for instance, is our current list of phrasal verbs with 'up' and there's sometimes, but not always the sense of completion. (PS, you can enter any preposition in the search box on http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/phrasal-verbs/ ) and get a list from our database.
