Default Looking for a word...

Alright this is bugging me to no end. I'm thinking of this word and it's been on the tip of my tounge for the longest time and it's driving me nuts. When all the citizens of a town or village follow the same faith and are all of the same religion, there is a certain word for that town, like the town is __________. If anybody knows what I'm talking about it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anybody know of a website where you can search the definitions as opposed to the words. So I could put like, "former member of the armed service" and veteran would come up.

P.S. English is not my native language so sorry for any mistakes.

You can try Onelook's revers dictionry, which attempts to do just that: http://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml I can't think of a term for a town of the same faith- I'll look and see if I can find something for this. We have words like 'homogenous', but that refers to anything, not specifically religion.
