IMO.
In the tv show The Big Bang Theory, one of the characters said that the color of lonliness should be orange, because nothing rhymes with it. I thought that was really funny.
The important thing to convey is one that English learners struggle with, based on the similarity of the words: Being alone doesn't make you lonely. And you can feel lonely when you are not physically alone.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
