Does anybody Know why american people is worried about them americam pronunciation? I've read some post written by american people where they ask how to learn the BBC pronunciation.

Many people try to change their accents, not just Americans.

Some Americans think that the BBC accent sounds "posh" or sophisticated. Some people are just fascinated by anyone who speaks differently than they do. My husband is from the American South, and people always comment on his accent and how "cute" it is.

They often refer to the BBC pronunciation as the standard accent speech,the language is basically the same only that they pronunce the words in a "Queen´s english" accent,that means,in a very clear accent and the intonation is standard,I mean,no cockney or Manchester accents!!!

The kind of accent you have can sometimes lead to stereotypes (ex. British is "posh" and American Southern is "redneck" . . . "cute" is a new one ;P ). I try to suppress my southern accent when I'm in a more formal situation (but I'd never try for a British accent . . . it would sound weird).

I think you should be proud of where you are from or where you were raised,therefore you accent will be from the area where you have been raised or where you are living and even though some people are very good at putting on an accent different than theirs...you can always notice something "fishy" about the way they speak....wink,wink... I might get away with an american accent but I cannot pretend to pass myself off as an american,I have that british intonation we alll love...
