    Default “legendary” and “legendarily”

What is the difference between the two words? Dictionary.com defines them the same and classifies both as adjectives while Wordsmyth.net and Bartleby.com defines legendary as an adjective and legendarily as an adverb. I tend to believe this over Dictionary.com’s answer, because while “legendary beauty” and “legendarily beautiful” sound fine to me, “legendary beautiful” doesn’t. Am I correct?

Great minds think alike. But do great minds think correctly?

To my ear, "legendarily" could mean according to the legend.

    Lancelot was legendarily brave.

To me, this has a note of disbelief that is not in:

    Lancelot's bravery was legendary.

    That's a good example I didn't think of.
