The passage:
The question is:
Do you agree that Holmes should let the thief go?
Answer: ( please check if the answer is grammatically correct)
No, I do not agree that Holmes should let the thief go because I think if someone did something wrong, they deserve punishment so they knew what they have done and will never do it again.

| I would change that slightly. Try: - No, I do not agree that Holmes should let the thief go, because I think if someone did something wrong, they deserve punishment. Then they will, presumably, be discouraged from doing it again.
What do you think?

No, I do not agree because if Holmes let the thief go, the thief will steal other things.
Answer 2:
Yes, I agree. This is because I think the thief will not do that again and if there is no witness, the innocent man be set free.

I would keep will there. After all, if we are calling him a thief that means we expect him to steal. Quote: |
