Dear teachers, I need help with correcting an Ans to a Q?Thx
The passage:
The question is:
Do you agree that Holmes should let the thief go?
Answer: ( please check if the answer is grammatically correct)
No, I do not agree that Holmes should let the thief go because I think if someone did something wrong, they deserve punishment so they knew what they have done and will never do it again.
Thank you for helping, teachers! :"(

I would change that slightly. Try:
- No, I do not agree that Holmes should let the thief go, because I think if someone did something wrong, they deserve punishment. Then they will, presumably, be discouraged from doing it again.
What do you think?
:)

Thank you, teacher Ronbee! I've got two other answers. Are they grammatically correct? Please advise! Thanks :"(
Answer 1:
No, I do not agree because if Holmes let the thief go, the thief will steal other things.
Answer 2:
Yes, I agree. This is because I think the thief will not do that again and if there is no witness, the innocent man be set free.
PLEASE ADVISE ON THE TWO ANSWERS ABOVE...Many thanks for helping, teachers! :"(

2 Yes, I agree. This is because I think the thief will not do that again and if there is no witness, the innocent man should be set free.

Many thanks for the advice too, teacher Tdol! ^o^
Sorry for asking another question:
I know it is correct to write "The Countess of Morcar".
However, is it correct to write "Morcar's countess"?
Thanks for advising again, teachers! ~_~

How about this:
No, I do not agree because if Holmes lets the thief go, the thief may steal other things.
We don't know for sure that the thief will strike again... ;)

I think you need a comma after agree. Thus, it would be:
- No, I do not agree, because if Holmes lets let the thief go, the thief will steal other things.
I would keep will there. After all, if we are calling him a thief that means we expect him to steal.

Put should after man (as Tdol suggested).
