Which form of verb should I use, grabbing or to grab? Thanks for advising, teachers! :"(

Use either, but they would mean two different things.

Put to in the blank and it means that he tried to reach, grasp, and hold onto the branch.

Or:

• The pain was unbearable and he struggled hard, grabbing hold of the branch of an old tree nearby.

That means that he succeeded in seizing the branch with his hand, but that was not the point of his struggle.

The choice depends on which meaning you intend. Your call.

BTW, would you, other teachers or anyone out there know how to prepare a Log book about a person's career, for example, A log book about Leonardo da Vinci and his career? Would anyone have any idea on how to make one? How should I do it and what format should I use to compile the information? Really have no idea on how to prepare one...PLEASE HELP & ADVISE. Do I need to make a coverpage of it too? @_@

A log book is like a diary, except it tends to be more specific in scope than a diary. I would assume that you would start at one specific date and end at another specific date. You will want to find out as much as you can about Leonardo DaVinci at that particular time. Then you will want to establish a timeline of his activities during that time. It will help if you can acquire a copy of one of his notebooks. I understand that he took copious notes, so they should prove helpful.
