It's just a guess, but perhaps we saybecause it is a place you go to. Example sentence:
- at the plaza
- When I saw Richard he was standing on the sidewalk in front of a shop at the plaza.
:)
Could any teachers explain why we use the prep "at" before Plaza as in:
There was a fun fair at the City Plaza yesterday.
Thanks a million for helping again, teachers! Sorry for the hassle!

Thanks again, teacher Ronbee! ^o^
At is often used for general locations, so a plaza, which is normally a large place, takes it. \^_^/Originally Posted by Helped Wanted

Any time.![]()
How about "at the lobby"? Lobby is also a general location and a large place. Is using "at" correct? or i should use "in the lobby" instead?
ex: We'll meet you at the lobby. or We'll meet you in the lobby.
thanks!
I'd use 'in the lobby', but I have heard 'at' used as well. It's not always clearcut.![]()
